An idle game set in an isometric pixel-art physics lab, built on real science. Shine light on metals to knock out electrons (the photoelectric effect), spend them on atoms, discover new elements and climb from hydrogen to krypton.

• 36 elements (periods 1–4) with real data: work functions, ionization energies, electronegativity

• Light sources from red LEDs to ultraviolet: photon energy decides what you can ionize

• Real lab equipment: Wimshurst machine, Leyden jars, Dewar flasks, power generators

• 69 compounds to synthesize, with ionic and covalent bonds and redox reactions

• A power plant: generators, grid load, lamp filaments that follow the Stefan–Boltzmann law

• Publish your research to start over stronger, and earn an honorary degree at the end, with a printable PDF diploma

• About 13 hours to finish; your lab keeps working while you're away

• In English and Italian

In development: periods 5–7 will arrive in future updates.

It seems to me the lab technician should be pausable. Otherwise he buys one atom when ever you can afford it and thus you won't be able to save up for anything else. Maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks for the feedback, you’re not missing anything! You’re right: the lab technician buys as soon as you can afford it. I’m adding a way to pause it (and to save up) in the next update.

There should be a way to toggle the automation options, like reducing the ions, because it gets me stuck in a loop where I cannot save up electrons since they are spent immediately.  It could also use a way to swap or remove machines in other rooms so you can replace them with better ones when you have more electrons.  Otherwise, it's a great game. Keep it up.

Thanks a lot, really glad you're enjoying it! You're right the auto-buy needs a toggle and a way to save up. That's coming in the next update, and I'll look at machine replacement afterwards.

Feel like it needs an option to turn the auto-buy stuff off for a bit, if there is one I can't find it. The auto-buy atoms in particular is absolutely killing me, I can't buy anything until every single atom for each unlocked element has reached that price.

Also, wish it was more clear how to unlock the power room. I was at like 9% efficiency in my first run before I left, came back and noticed more power generation was available. Dunno how close I am in the second run, partially because the atom auto-buy is making things take forever.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'm adding an auto-buy toggle, and I'll make the requirements for unlocking the power room much clearer. Glad you came back for a second run!

Add the ability to click for electrons. The start is too slow to the point I am not willing to play this.

Thanks, that's really useful feedback! You're right, the first minutes are too passive. I'm adding a click to generate electrons mechanic and speeding up the early game in the next update.

too time restricted, not much to do at all and hard to find all of the "menus" in this layout

Thanks for the honest feedback! I'll make the menus easier to find and give early game clearer goals. Hope you'll give it another try after the update.
